Our Programs
As part of our effort to prevent alcohol abuse, we have developed the following programs:
- Great Party Guide – For those hosting a party, whatever the occasion, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers
distribute the Great Party Guide, which provides tips to help ensure their guests consume alcohol beverages responsibly
and make it home safely. Click here to view the Guide.
- Training for Intervention ProcedureS (TIPS) – Anheuser-Busch helps provide TIPS server training to educate bartenders,
wait staff and store clerks on how to identify and prevent potential alcohol abuse situations and properly check IDs.
Developed by Morris Chafetz, M.D., the founding director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism,
this program also discusses techniques through which servers can help prevent drunk driving, such as calling a cab
for patrons who may have had too much to drink, or encouraging friends to provide a safe-ride home.
- Sound Attitude - for concerts and music event venues, helps promote positive behavior among concertgoers.
The program’s success is based on a group approach involving event organizers, venue operators, concessionaires and
security personnel to encourage personal responsibility, respect for fellow music lovers and respect for the law. The
program includes staff training, designated driver programs, and a comprehensive communication effort targeting concertgoers.
In addition to being used at music events around the country, Sound Attitude is also used at street festivals and other
special events that involve large crowds.
- Good Sport - is a communications, training and management program designed to help stadium operators, team owners
and concessionaires promote positive crowd behavior by encouraging fan responsibility. Good Sport has been used to
develop successful fan-responsibility and event-management programs for international sporting events, including the
Olympics and the World Cup games. Anheuser-Busch partners with Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM),
a national program on facility management sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, professional
sports leagues and the National Association of Broadcasters, to bring the benefits of this program to the public.
- Hunting Safety – In conjunction with the National Shooting Sports Foundation, we developed the Sportsman’s Guide
to Firearm Safety and Hunter Ethics. This brochure provides tips to help make hunting a safe experience. It
also recommends avoiding drinking beer or other alcohol beverages until the hunt is over for the day. This brochure
is distributed both by the Foundation and through hunting retailers across the country.
- Sports and Motorcycle Safety Tips – For adults engaging in winter sports, motorcycle events and other recreational
activities, these materials promote general sport safety and offer responsible drinking tips.
